Punch Definitions page allows MSS user to view the created punches, add new punches, edit and delete the punches.
Required Permission: FeaturePunch Definitions
Punch Definitions Grid View
On Punch definitions page, user can view the created punch definition’s description, Inbound, Function, As BB (Break Begin), As BE (Break End), As Out Punch, Hidden checkboxes and Actions with 2 options – Edit and Delete. At the bottom, user will see a button “Add Punch Definition”

Add Punch Definition
To add the punch definition,
- Click on Admin menu on left-side dashboard
- Click on Configuration Page
- Click on Punch Definitions
- Click on “+ Add Punch Definitions”
- A new active row will appear
- Enter Description, Inbound, and Function value (these 3 are mandatory fields)
- User can leave the other fields in the row empty
- Click on “Save”
- It will show the success toast message and refreshes the grid and populates the newly added punch definition.
NOTE: Description, Inbound, and Function fields are mandatory. User will get an error if tries to save the punch definitions without adding info to these 3 fields.
Edit Punch Definition
To edit the punch definition,
- Click on Admin menu on left-side dashboard
- Click on Configuration Page
- Click on Punch Definitions menu
- Click on the 3-dot icon in the actions column for the punch definition user wants to edit
- Click on “Edit”
- It will enable the row for user to edit
- Click on “Save” once edits are done
- It will show the success toast message and refreshes the grid with updated information.
NOTE: User is not allowed to save the edited punch definition if description, or inbound, or function fields are empty.
Delete Punch Definition
To delete the punch definition,
- Click on Admin menu on left-side dashboard
- Click on Configuration Page
- Click on Punch Definitions menu
- Click on the 3-dot icon in the actions column for the punch definition user wants to delete
- Click on “Delete”
- Click on “Delete” appearing on confirmation dialog
- It will show success toast message and refreshes the grid.
NOTE: User cannot delete the punch definition that is currently in use.
