Step 1 – If you\u2019re using a physical card or proximity fob terminal, click the general tab. Otherwise skip to step 4.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Step 2 – We need to revoke the badge so you can give this employee\u2019s swipe card to someone else. Click the pencil next to the badge assigned.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Step 3 – Put in a date under \u201crevoked\u201d. After that date, the badge will be available to give to another employee.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Step 4 – Click the HR profile tab.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Step 5 – Uncheck Active? And save. The employee is now inactive.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Step 6 – To remove an employee completely from the active\/inactive list, click delete.<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Additional Information<\/h3>\n
\n

Always keep an employee active until their last pay period has been exported. An inactive or deleted employee cannot be exported to payroll.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re using a Hand Punch, Finger Scanner, Web Punch, or PIN system, you don\u2019t need to revoke the badge, since it is the employee\u2019s employee code. Something you would never give to another employee.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s best to deactivate employees, rather than deleting. This way you can still run reports and view data about this employee. However if several years have gone by and you don\u2019t need to see that data anymore, you can delete them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
