How to Enable Precise Location for an App on Mobile

  1. Open Settings

    1. Tap the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security

    1. Scroll down and select Privacy & Security.
  3. Select Location Services

    1. Tap Location Services at the top.

    2. Make sure Location Services is turned ON.
  4. Find the App You Want to Allow Precise Location

    1. Scroll down to see a list of apps that use location services.

    2. Tap on the app you want to enable Precise Location for.
  5. Choose Location Access Level
    1. Select one of the options:
      1. Never – The app won’t access your location.
      2. Ask Next Time or When I Share – The app will ask before using your location.
      3. While Using the App – The app can access your location only when it’s open.
      4. Always – The app can access your location even when it’s not open.
  6. Turn on Precise Location

    1. Toggle Precise Location ON to allow the app to access your exact location instead of just an approximate area.

Now, the app will be able to use your precise location when needed!

  1. Open Settings

    1. Tap the Settings app on your phone.
  2. Go to Location Settings

    1. Scroll down and select Location.

    2. Make sure Use location is turned ON.
  3. Find the App You Want to Allow Precise Location

    1. Tap App permissions (or App location permissions, depending on your device).

    2. Scroll through the list and select the app you want to adjust.
  4. Choose Location Access Level
    1. Select one of the following options:
      1. Allow only while using the app – The app can use your location only when it’s open.
      2. Ask every time – The app will request location access each time you use it.
      3. Allow all the time (if available) – The app can access your location even in the background.
      4. Deny – The app won’t have access to your location.
  5. Enable Precise Location

    1. Turn on Use precise location (or Precise location) to allow the app to access your exact location instead of an approximate area.
